Zane embarks on ‘Hessen Affair’

Actor signs to star in WWII thriller

Billy Zane has signed on to star in the World War II era thriller “The Hessen Affair” for Belgium-based Corsan N.V.

Lyne Renée, Michael Bowen and Noah Segan round out the cast of the $20 million-budgeted film, which will mark the feature directorial debut of Corsan CEO Paul Breuls.

Based on real events, story is set in 1945 when two American officers discover the crown jewels of Germany – more diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and pearls than are gathered in any one place outside the Tower of London.

Nicholas Meyer (“The Human Stain”) and Ronald Roose (“Collateral Damage”) penned the screenplay.

Corsan is also handling worldwide sales for the film, which starts shooting Nov. 12 in Canada before moving to Belgium.
