‘Woman’ is Norway’s Oscar entry

Film is based on Erlend Loe's bestseller

STOCKHOLM — Helmer Petter Naess’ comedy “Gone With the Woman” is Norway’s entry in the hunt for a nomination for best foreign film Academy Award.

Pic, produced by Monster Films, is based on Erlend Loe’s bestseller “Tatt av kvinnen” and revolves around a young man who finds his life is overtaken by a strong-minded young woman.

Pic recently opened the Norwegian Intl. Film Festival in Haugesund and will have its international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this month.

The deadline for submissions is Oct. 1 and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the foreign language film nominations on Jan. 22. The Oscar ceremony takes place Feb. 24.
