Liz Murdoch takes business award

J.K. Rowling and producer Alison Owen (“Brick Lane”) were among those feted at the U.K.’s 17th Women in Film and Television Awards, dished out over lunch at London’s Hilton Hotel on Friday.

“Harry Potter” creator Rowling received the U.K. Film Council-backed script award at the annual kudofest, which recognizes the contribution of women in the Brit film and TV industries.

Owen collected an award for her work on recent pics “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” “Brick Lane,” and the upcoming “The Other Boleyn Girl.” Elisabeth Murdoch, CEO of independent production company Shine, was presented with the business award by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell.
