Named senior VP of production, development

Eric Robinson has been upped to senior VP of production and development for the Weinstein Co.

Robinson, who started with the Weinstein brothers as Harvey’s assistant, will have expanded oversight over the company’s productions. Based in Gotham and reporting to co-prexy of production Michael Cole, he focuses mainly on animated pics.

Among the toons he’s overseeing are “Escape From Planet Earth,” “Cricket in Times Square,” “Igor,” “Artemis Fowl” and “Hood vs. Evil,” the sequel to “Hoodwinked.” He also oversaw production of “TMNT” and is working on “Gatchaman” and “Astroboy,” with Imagi, producer of “TMNT.”

He is also overseeing TWC’s partnership with Exodus Film Group, starting with “Navy Seals.”

Robinson is also working on live-action projects such as “The Equalizer,” spy thriller “Panic,” “Knight Rider” and heist film “The Sicilian Clan.”

After a one year stint at William Morris, Robinson joined Miramax in 2000. He was elevated to a director of production, moving with the brothers to their new company in 2005. He got his veepee stripes in June 2006.
