Exec to replace Prewitt

Leaders of FilmL.A. have tapped DGA Western exec director Bryan Unger to serve as chair of the film permitting agency.

Unger, who joined FilmL.A.’s board after it was restructured in 2003, replaces outgoing chair Jean Prewitt of the Independent Film & Television Alliance.

Unger is responsible for contract administration and enforcement of the DGA’s film and television agreements with major studios and its agreement with talent agencies. He began his career as a labor exec at Local 15 of the National Assn. of Broadcast Employees and Technicians and served for five years as international representative with the Intl. Its new officers include Steve Caplan, exec VP of the Assn. of Independent Commercial Producers, who will serve as first vice chair; Pamm Fair, deputy national exec director of the Screen Actors Guild, who will serve as secretary; and Randy Winograd, chief financial officer and general counsel of SBE Entertainment Group, who will serve as treasurer.

New members of the board include Bill Allen, president of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp.; IATSE rep Mike Miller; and Leron Gubler, president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
