UIP replaced by Paramount in Mexico

Studio to distribute DreamWorks, Paramount Vantage, MTV pics

MEXICO CITY — United Intl. Pictures Mexico has been officially restructured as Paramount Pictures Mexico, the company said Friday.

Michael Horn remains managing director.

Paramount Pictures Mexico will distribute films from Paramount arms including DreamWorks, Paramount Vantage, MTV and Nickelodeon. It will continue to distribute the Universal label in Mexico.

Its 2007 lineup includes “Shrek the Third,” the sequel that’s widely expected to outgross the two top B.O. record holders in Mexico, “Ice Age: The Meltdown” and “Shrek 2”.
