Tribeca gives Bronx lesson

Program will educate 120 students

The Tribeca Film Institute launched pilot program “Tribeca Teaches: Films In Motion” on Monday.

In partnership with the Bronx Preparatory Charter School, program will educate 90 middle school and 30 high school students in the South Bronx about the art and process of filmmaking.

Students will produce a personal portrait of their cultures, people and personalities by creating their own films.

Program, which will be taught by the Bronx Preparatory instructors, Tribeca Film Institute teaching artists and visiting filmmakers, continues on as part of this year’s fest through April 28.
