Film festival to debut Russian action adventure

The Newport Beach Film Festival will welcome “Treasure Raiders” when it hosts the Russian action adventure’s North American premiere Friday.

The film, starring co-writer and co-producer Alexander Nevsky, follows an American professor in Moscow who treasure hunts by day and street races by night. Forces collide when the professor and his racing rival most work together in the chase for a famous Russian relic.

Shot entirely in Moscow, “Treasure Raiders” was directed by Brent Huff with Steven Brand, Sherilyn Fenn and David Carradine rounding out the cast.

Following its debut at Newport Beach, the Czar Pictures film will screen in Cannes next month and open wide in Russia and other former Soviet Republicans this September.
