BARCELONA — Spanish thesp Luis Tosar (“Miami Vice”) is attached to star in “Spleen” (La noche que dejo de llover), written and helmed by first-timer Alfonso Zarauza and produced by Spain’s Iroko Films and Perro Verde Films.
Tosar will play an armchair philosopher whose bohemian social life turns on his local pub. Tale, set over one long night, follows his deepening infatuation with a girl.
Cast also includes Mercedes Sampietro and Chete Lera. The e2.6 million ($3.5 million) “Spleen” is skedded to shoot in late summer.
Iroko is also in pre-production on Beda Docampo Feijoo’s romantic comedy “Tuya” and an 18th century drama, Francisco Athie’s “El baile de San Juan,” a France-Mexico-Spain co-production.
