Amid the potential pitfalls of playing someone who’s manic, Wilkinson turns his “Michael Clayton” role of Arthur Edens into something exquisite. It would be impossible for the Brit actor not to get awards consideration for conveying Arthur’s joy at heedlessly rebelling against the morally bankrupt legal cocoon that has enveloped him. In fact, his performance leaves one wondering how it could have been six years since his last Oscar nom (for “In the Bedroom”).
