Three films draw coin at San Seb

'Hairy,' 'Campo,' 'Vestido' earn backing

SAN SEBASTIAN — “Perez, ratoncito de los sueños 2” (The Hairy Tooth Fairy 2), “Campo Cerezo” and “El vestido” have pulled down coin from the Raices’ co-production fund.

Launched in 2006, Raices is backed by the film authorities of Argentina, Galicia, Andalusia and Catalonia, with each partner putting up e150,000 ($200,000) a year.

A follow-up to the live action/3-D toon pic hit “The Hairy Tooth Fairy,” the highest-grossing Spanish film on home turf in the last 10 months, “Hairy Tooth Fairy 2” teams Galicia’s Filmax Animacion, Catalonia’s Castelao Prods. and Argentina’s Patagonik Film Group.

“Campo Cerezo” is produced by Argentina’s Patricia Dora Martín García, Andalusia’s Artimagen Prods. and Galicia’s Saga TV.

Producers on “El vestido” are Argentina’s Co-operativa de Trabajo Kaos, Catalonia’s Nadir Films and Galicia’s Ardora Filmes.

The Raices fund encourages co-productions between the fund’s member countries and the internationalization of their industries.

The awards were announced at the Galicia Terra de Cine Happy Hour Tuesday evening at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
