Funeral services were held Tuesday for Tamil producer G. Srinivasan, who died after slipping into a Himalayan gorge during a family vacation in India.
Srinivasan produced “Guru” (2007) “Yuva” (2004) and “A Peck on the Cheek” (2002), all directed by his brother, Mani Ratnam.
The 48-year-old was hiking near Manali in Kashmir when he fell on Sunday, according to news reports. His family brought the body back to Chennai, southern India, on Monday.
Another producer brother, G. Venkateshwaran, committed suicide in May 2003.
Ratnam, who was in Cannes for the film festival last week, flew back to India, cutting short a holiday in Spain.
