NonStop nabs rights to '4 Months'

Swedish distribs went on a shopping spree in Cannes, with many executives citing the market as having been better than anticipated.

Distrib NonStop Entertainment secured Swedish rights to Palme d’Or winner “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.” Company previously bought last year’s Venice Golden Lion winner”Quiet Lives” and Berlin Golden Bear winner”Tuya’s Marriage.”

Distrib Atlantic Film picked up Directors’ Fortnight opener “Control,” a biopic about Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, as well as Russian competition entry “The Banishment” and Lebanese Directors’ Fortnight comedy “Caramel.”

Sandrew Metronome picked up several titles, including Fernando Meirelles’ “Blindness,” Kirsten Dunst starrer “How to Lose Friends & Alienate People,” the still-untitled Larry Charles docu and Jodie Foster starrer “Nim’s Island.”

Svensk bought Stellan Skarsgard-starrer “Waz,” Wong Kar Wai’s “Ashes of Time Redux,” the Coen brothers’ upcoming George Clooney starrer “Burn After Reading,” John Malkovich starrer “Disgrace,” Frances McDormand starrer “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day” and thriller “The Cottage” starring Andy Serkis.
