Exec moves from The Works

LONDON — David Shear has ankled his position as head of sales at The Works U.K. Distribution to join London-based indie distrib Revolver Ent. as sales director.

In this newly-created role, Shear will be responsible for Revolver’s theatrical strategy. He starts June 11.

Prior to working at The Works, Shear was head of sales at ContentFilm, Winchester Film Distribution and the Feature Film Company, where he released pics including “Lantana” and “My Summer of Love.”

“We are thrilled that he is joining us in this vital role, in what is a major year for the company with our largest and most varied theatrical slate to date,” commented Justin Marciano, managing director of Revolver Entertainment.

Revolver has built a growing reputation by successfully handling the theatrical and homevid release of challenging youth-orientated fare including “Kidulthood,” “Destricted” and “13 (Tzameti).”

Revolver’s upcoming theatrical slate includes “Jindabyne,” “Taking Liberties,” “Tell No One,” “Legacy,” “Ghosts of City Soleil,” “The Magic Flute,” “Zoo,” “Macbeth,” “Lagerfeld Confidential” and “Young People Fucking.”
