MUNICH — Oliver Parker’s “I Really Hate My Job” is to have its world preem in Transylvania.
Starring Romanian-born Alexandra Maria Lara (“Control,” “Downfall”), Neve Campbell (“Scream”) and Shirley Henderson (“Harry Potter”), Oliver Parker’s laffer about five waitresses stuck in a second-rate London restaurant with delusions of grandeur is to preem on June 4 at the 6th Transylvania Intl. Film Festival in Romania.
Written by Jennifer Higgie, editor of contemporary fine arts magazine “Frieze,” the story re-counts her own experiences of working tables in restaurants.
Shortly after Transylvania, pic’s to have its U.S. preem at the Seattle International Film Festival on June 13.
Other pics screening at the Transylvania fest, which runs June 1-10, are Palm d’Or winner “4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days,” by Romanian helmer Cristian Mungiu, which will run in the fest’s international competish.
Among the international pics screening in competition are “La Antena” by Esteban Sapir from Argentina, “Farvael Falkenberg” by Jesper Ganslandt from Sweden and “Reprise” by Joachim Trier from Norway.
In the Romanian section there will be Un Certain Regard-winner “California Dreamin’ (Endless)” by the late Cristian Nemescu, and Gheorghe Preda’s feature debut “Ingerul Necesar.”
