Studio picks up 'Final Winter'
SYDNEY — Paramount Pictures Australia has inked its first Aussie pickup, “The Final Winter,” a privately financed football feature from tyro production company the Three Scallywags.
Pic centers around a man at the end of his football career in the ’80s, when new money changes the game.It stars newcomer Matt Nable, who penned the script, and ex-rugby player Matthew Johns, with John Jarratt, Nathaniel Dean and Raelee Hill.
Pic is directed by designer and editor Brian Andrews and production coordinator Jane Forrest; Michelle Russell and Anthony Coffey produced.
Par Oz launched in January, when UIP split operations in the territory and signaled its plan to engage with the local biz.
It has slated the low-budget drama for August.
