Oscar documentary deadline set

Filmmakers must also prove seven-day run

Documentary filmmakers have until Sept. 4 to submit their short subject or feature for consideration for this year’s Oscars.

Entries must include an English-language synopsis of the film, film credits, filmographies of the director and/or producer, 25 DVD copies and proof of a seven-day run in either New York or Los Angeles.

Members of the Academy’s documentary branch will determine the nominees for both short subject and feature.

Nominations are announced Jan. 22. The Oscars will be held Feb. 24 at the Kodak Theater.
