Nordisk crosses over with Kramer pic

Distrib to play 'White Jazz'

CANNES — Nordisk Film Distribution has picked up Nordic rights to “Crossing Over” and “White Jazz.”

Wayne Kramer will direct “Crossing Over,” which stars Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn and Ashley Judd. The Weinstein Co. pic focuses on immigrants who’ll do anything to get into the U.S.

Nordisk also acquired the screen adaptation of James Elroy’s crime novel “White Jazz.” George Clooney is to play the lead in this sequel to “L.A. Confidential.”

Set in L.A.’s corrupt underworld in the 50s, “White Jazz” will be directed by Joe Carnahan, who co-wrote the script with brother Matt Carnahan. Carnahan previously wrote and directed “Smokin’ Aces” and “Narc.”
