Execs take VP spots

New Line Cinema has promoted Maggie Swisher and Nicole Butte to VP slots. Swisher has become VP of special events and will continue to report to exec VP Elissa Greer. She’s been with New Line since 1999, most recently serving as director of special events.

Swisher is responsible for overseeing all planning and logistics for the studio’s events such as premieres, Oscar and Golden Globe parties, corporate retreats and press and distribution events. She also coordinates special projects such as international press junkets., film festivals, publicity stunts, concerts, viewing parties and key tastemaker events.

Butte has been promoted to VP of interactive promotions and media and reports to exec VP Gordon Paddison. She oversees all interactive media and promotions for New Line’s theatrical and homevid releases.

Butte joined New Line in 2004 and is currently working on upcoming films including “Hairspray” and “The Golden Compass.” Prior to joining New Line, Butte served as a director of marketing for Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment and did stints with Virgin Entertainment and E! Entertainment.
