With the end of its distrib pact with Universal Pictures, Paris-based Mediatoon Intl. Distribution is going it alone in Asia and Latin America.
As a result, distrib has widened the sales responsibilities of Michele Massonnat and Jerome Alby to include Asia and Latin America respectively.
Massonnat is sales chief for English-speaking countries and Scandinavia. Alby is international sales manager for Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East.
Led by Marie-Pierre Moulinjeune, Mediatoon Intl. Distribution, markets the audiovisual rights of the company’s production companies (Dargaud Marina, Ellipsanime, Dupuis, Storimages), which make such classic skeins as “Tintin,” “Babar” and “Lucky Luke,” as well as the group’s more recent series “Time Jam — Valerian & Laureline,” “Two of a Kind — Spirou & Fantasio,” “The Magic Roundabout” and “Yakari.”
In a bid to expand its catalog, Mediatoon has partnered with other European producers such as Bayard and Les Films du Triangle, as well as East Asian producers of mangas, “Naruto” and “Keroro.”
