Mayer-Siskind lands at Summit

New publicity VP formally from Universal

Vivian Mayer-Siskind has been named senior veep of worldwide publicity at Summit Entertainment.

In her new post, she will serve as the indie studio’s primary strategist in helping to maximize the exposure of Summit titles in the theatrical and home entertainment arena via traditional and emerging publicity opportunities. Mayer-Siskind will report to Summit’s soon-to-be named president of marketing.

“Vivian is the kind of seasoned executive that we have been bringing into the Summit fold, one that brings extensive experience, energy and enthusiasm,” Summit chief operating officer Bob Hayward said. “We look forward to her immediate impact on our theatrical and home entertainment publicity activities.”

Mayer-Siskind most recently was senior veep of publicity for Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s brand marketing division. During her five-year stint there, she led her department in developing and executing targeted campaigns to build retail, consumer and trade awareness for Universal Studios, Focus Features, Rogue Pictures and NBC Television’s DVD products. From 1997 to 2001, Mayer-Siskind was head of publicity for DreamWorks.

Summit Entertainment is a worldwide theatrical motion picture development, financing, production and distribution studio. The studio handles all aspects of marketing and distribution for both its own internally developed motion pictures as well as acquired pictures. Summit Entertainment also represents international sales for both its own slate and third-party product; the company plans to release 10 to 12 films annually.
