Ang Lee film wins best picture, director

Lust, Caution” dominated the Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan on Saturday night, drawing wins for film, director Ang Lee and actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai.

Pic racked up seven plaudits at a ceremony regarded as the Chinese-language Oscars.

The actress nod was only one of a few major prizes to escape “Lust.” It went instead to Joan Chen for her part in Tony Ayres’ “The Home Song Stories.” “Lust” star Tang Wei took the newcomer nod, just as she did Thursday night at the CineAsia convention.

Supporting actor went to Tony Leung Ka-fai for “The Drummer,” supporting actress to Fan Bingbing for Chinese ghost story “The Matrimony.”
