“The Drummer”: Hong Kong street punk gets spiritual in the mountains with a traditional drumming group. Helmed by Kenneth Bi, with cast led by Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee in his first serious role. (Sales: Match Factory)

“Vexille”: Femme secret agent investigates illegal robotics in futuristic Japan. CG anime debut by digi-whiz Fumihiko Sori, who previously helmed flashy live-actioner “Ping Pong.” (Sales: Shochiku)

“Nothing but Ghosts”: Five cross-cut tales of rootless youth, set in Jamaica, Venice, Berlin, Iceland and the Nevadan desert, based on Judith Hermann’s trendy bestseller. Sophomore feature by German helmer Martin Gypkens (“We”), with cast led by August Diehl. (Sales: Beta Cinema)

INT’L COMPETITION

“Extraordinary Rendition”: Edgy first feature by Brit Jim Threapleton, docudrama concerns the CIA’s “kidnapping” and interrogation in secret European locations of suspected terrorists. (Sales: High Point Media Group)

“Ladrones”: Drama about a kid who was taught to steal by his mom and who grows to become a successful petty thief. First feature, shot in widescreen by Spain’s Jaime Marques. (Sales: Sogecine/Sogepaq)

“Fuori dalle corde”: Debut feature by Swiss-Italian helmer Fulvio Bernasconi, a kind of Italian “Fight Club,” set around Trieste. (Sales: Ventura Film)

“Freigesprochen”: A railway signal operator’s momentary lack of judgment leads to terrible consequences. Helmed by Austrian Peter Payer, with cast headed by Frank Giering and Corinna Harfouch. (Sales: Bavaria Film Intl.)
