Korean stars align at Premiere event

Daniel Henney, Kim A-jung honored

Six up-and-coming actors and filmmakers were feted at the third annual Premiere Rising Star Awards, held on Friday night at the Westin Chosun Beach Hotel.

Korean-American actor/model Daniel Henney (“My Father”) and diva Kim A-jung (“200 Pound Beauty”) received actor and actress awards, confirming their status as the most buzzworthy of new-generation thesps. Other prizes included best director to “May 18” helmer Kim Ji-hoon, new actor to “Gangster High” star Lee Tae-sung, new actress to “Sunflower” thesp Heo Yi-jae, and short film to Yoon Yong-ah for “Tool,” which was screened at the ceremony.
