Korean Film Council holds ‘Campus’

2-day event to promote contacts

SEOUL — The Korean Film Council will hold a two-day “Japan Business Campus” in Tokyo to promote contacts between the Korean and Japanese film industries.

Held Dec. 10-11, the event will be attended by Sidus FNH co-chairman Tcha Sung-jai, “Silmido” producer Jonathan Kim, and “My Sassy Girl” director Kwak Jae-yong. Initiative follows a similar China Business Campus held in Beijing last year.

The event is part of a Korean Film Showcase running from December 8-14 that will present nine recent films including hit comedy “200 Pounds Beauty” and Im Kwon-taek’s “Beyond the Years”.

A panel discussion on the future of Korean films in Japan will also be held on December 9, with KOFIC chair An Cheong-sook, Cinequanonon prexy Lee Bong-ou, and “200 Pounds” helmer Kim Yong-hwa participating.
