Pellington to direct Lakeshore's rom-com

Cheryl Hines has joined the cast of romantic laffer “Henry Poole Was Here,” toplining Luke Wilson, for Lakeshore Entertainment.

Mark Pellington is directing the film from a script by Albert Torres. Adriana Barraza and Radha Mitchell also star.

Story revolves around a man who retreats into a life of debauchery, feasting on liquor and fast food, after learning he has only six weeks to live. But his plans go awry thanks to his oddball neighbors.

Producers are Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi.

This fall, Hines reprises her role in the sixth and final season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” starring opposite Larry David. She also has several features in the works and is still in theaters with sleeper indie hit “Waitress.”

Hines will next be in theaters with comedy “The Grand,” written and directed by Zak Penn.
