Fox options Bell, Kline script

Fox Searchlight has optioned Elisa Bell and Jeff Kline’s spec script “The Rosenbergs Save Christmas.”

The Firm is attached to produce the laffer.

Storyline revolves around a newly engaged couple from different religious backgrounds. When his family is forced to host Christmas, the two mothers’ personalities collide.

Project is being developed as a potential starring vehicle for Goldie Hawn.

Bell’s film credits include “Little Black Book” and “Sleepover.”

Script marks the first time that she and Kline have written a feature together. They’ve teamed up on several TV projects, penning pilots “Electra Woman and Dyna Girl” for the WB. And they’re developing the series “I Am a Real Cop” at Spike TV.

Kline’s other credits include ABC’s “That Was Then.”

Hawn was last seen in theaters with “The Banger Sisters,” starring opposite Susan Sarandon.
