Globes film nominations: Screenplay

Guillermo Arriaga
Film: “Babel”
Globes history: First nom
Voters say … “If you look at all of the vignettes in ‘Babel,’ they’re all pretty complicated stories all on their own. It’s four stories across three continents, and he managed to hang all of that together beautifully.”

Todd Field & Tom Perrotta
Film: “Little Children”
Globes history: First nom for both scribes
Voters say … “It’s one of those stories we can all relate to, but for me, it fell apart at the finish.”

Patrick Marber
Film: “Notes on a Scandal”
Globes history: Nommed in 2005 for “Closer”
Voters say … “When you see the film, it’s obvious it’s written by someone with great mastery of what he does.”

William Monahan
Film: “The Departed”
Globes history: First nom
Voters say … “It’s suspenseful, full of action, it has great characters, and it’s a bit of a mystery. That all has to start with a great script.”

Peter Morgan
Film: “The Queen”
Globes history: First nom
Voters say … “It’s pretty courageous to do what he did. Nobody really knows what happened in those places where all that was going on, but he made the whole thing extremely credible.”
