German distributors take P&A subsidy

FFA hands out $2.64 million for distribution, marketing

BERLIN — The German Film Board (FFA) has awarded Euros 2 million ($2.64 million) to seven pics to help meet distribution and marketing costs, it revealed on Wednesday.

The FFA’s newly created distribution and marketing arm will give $450,000 to Delphi Filmverleih for “Haende weg von Mississippi,” helmed by Detlev Buck, $570,000 to Buena Vista’s “Die Wilde Kerle 4,” and $440,000 each to Warner Bros’ “Rennschwein Rudi Ruessel 2” and Constantin’s “Schwere Jungs.”

Other recipients included Universum’s Berlinale competition entry “Die Faelscher” (The Counterfeiters), helmed by Stefan Ruzowitzky, which got $80,000, and Warner Bros.’ “Das Wilde Leben,” which received $400,000 for media costs.

“Vier Minuten,” released by Piffl Medien, took $330,500.
