Chellas to adapt Richmond's novel
Jennifer Dana and Andrew Lauren of Andrew Lauren Prods. and Newmarket’s Aaron Ryder will serve as producers, with Newmarket principals Chris J. Ball and William Tyrer exec producing. San Francisco-set novel follows a young woman whose fiance’s child vanishes when she momentarily looks away to take a photograph. The couple then struggles through blame, loss and grief while constructing their own ideas about the girl’s fate. Newmarket recently acquired Matt O’Neil spec script “Bull Rush,” with the company set to fully finance the feature and produce. It co-produced “Prom Night” with Original Films, with that film going out next April, and it will release writer-director John August’s “The Nines” in late summer. Andrew Lauren Prods. is a New York-based indie with credits that include “The Squid and the Whale.”
