Director, writer and producer Walter Hill will receive the Flanders Film Festival’s Joseph Plateau Award for his lifetime achievement, the fest announced Thursday.
The 34th edition, which runs Oct. 9-20 in Ghent, Belgium, screens more than 200 films and spotlights film music with the World Soundtrack Awards on closing night, Oct. 20.
Hill’s tribute evening takes place Oct. 12, with a screening of his Western telepic “Broken Trail.” Fest will include a retrospective of his films, including “The Long Riders,” “The Warriors,” “48 Hrs.,” “Streets of Fire,” “Johnny Handsome” and “Alien,” which he produced.
Kathleen Turner heads the international jury for the competitive event.
