Harvey and Bob Weinstein are moving their chick lit adaptation “The Nanny Diaries” to Sept. 7 from its planned opening next month.
Pic will have its world preem at the Venice film fest.
Pic was helmed by “American Splendor” directing duo Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman.
Harvey Weinstein said he’s moving the film to put it in awards contention, and its homevid release will coincide with the Golden Globes.
Weinstein added that he didn’t want the pic to get lost in a summer glut of sequels in various franchises.
“Diaries” stars Scarlett Johansson in a role Weinstein said the company will likely be pushing for kudos consideration.
Pic is being distributed through MGM.
