LONDON — European Xbox 360 console users will be able to download to rent feature films in Britain, Ireland, France and Germany from Dec. 11.
Microsoft’s Live Marketplace Video Store video-on-demand platform will offer an initial offering of 40 Warner Bros. titles via download, including “The Matrix,” “300” and the “Harry Potter” series.
For a cost of Euros 3 ($4.42) and Euros 4.50 ($6.64) for high-definition versions, users will gets pics for a two-week period.
The digital download service has been available in the U.S. since November last year.
According to Microsoft, 60% on Xbox 360 gamers already go online via their console to download games and music vids and pits their wits against other gamers across the globe.
Service also launches Dec. 11 in Canada.
