Drama to enter foriegn-language race

Tyro helmer Ilmar Raag’s “The Class” has been nominated by the Estonian Oscar committee as that country’s Oscar foreign-language submission.

Pic, based on true events, is about a 16-year-old who has been bullied his entire life. When one of his classmates stands up for him, an open war starts, with the class on one side and the two boys on the other.

International distribution and sales rights are handled by NonStop Sales.

The deadline for submissions is Monday and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the foreign-language film nominations on Jan. 22. The Oscar ceremony takes place Feb. 24.
