Company exits Danish distribution
LONDON — Danish sales outfit Trust Film Sales has tapped Rikke Ennis as CEO.
The company said Tuesday it has abandoned its foray into Danish distribution and will focus all of its efforts on the core business: handling international sales of arthouse pics by critically acclaimed Scandinavian directors.
Ennis said, “I want producers and distributors to associate Trust Film Sales with the highest quality of films coming from the Nordic region.”
Ennis joined Trust in 1999, when she set up the company’s TV distribution department. In 2001, she was appointed managing director of the Nordic Television Distribution Company, which was jointly owned by Zentropa, Nimbus Film, Grasten Film and M&M Productions.
In 2005, she became managing director of the Danish Video on Demand Distribution Company.
Ennis will be at the San Sebastian Film Festival repping “Performances” by Per Fly, “Ekko” by Anders Morgenthaler and “Daisy Diamond” by Simon Staho.
Trust will also be handling pre-sales on “Mammooth,” Lukas Moodyson’s first English language feature film.
Pic, which will star Gael Garcia Bernal, is being produced by Lars Jonsson of Sweden’s Memfis Film.
