Awards take place on Dec. 1

LONDON — The European Film Academy is honoring Jean-Luc Godard and Michael Ballhaus at the 20th European Film Awards, set to take place Dec. 1 in Berlin.

Iconoclastic Gallic helmer Godard will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition for his near-50 year career.

Teuton cinematographer Ballhaus will receive the European Achievement in World Cinema award.

Both Godard and Ballhaus are expected to be present at the ceremony.
