Eastwood draws USC award

Oscar winner to receive honorary doctorate

Clint Eastwood has been chosen to receive the USC School of Cinematic Arts’ first-ever Honorary Alumni Award.

“Clint Eastwood is an icon of film and television, inspiring audiences around the globe,” dean Elizabeth M. Daley said. “His work on both sides of the camera exemplifies the creativity and dedication that we strive to instill in our students.”

Multihyphenate will attend the film school’s commencement exercises at the USC Galen Center on May 11. He also will receive an honorary doctorate from the university on that day.

Eastwood is a four-time Oscar winner, having picked up directing and picture honors for “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby.” He was nominated in both categories this year for “Letters From Iwo Jima.”
