Duo log onto cyber comedy

Catchphrase puts web celebrities in 'MyTop8'

Catchphrase Entertainment principals Dean Shull and Shahrook Oomer will produce and direct the upcoming comedy “MyTop8: The Movie.”

The duo also wrote the project, centered around a slacker who decides to take a road trip across the country to meet his “cyber” friends from the Internet as well as various ‘Net celebrities from YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites. Lensing begins next month.

Shull and Oomer launched Catchphrase Entertainment last year, with an eye toward making films for young-adult audiences. They recently finished directing and producing the docu-comedy “Fanpire,” about a group of fanboy misfits on Hollywood Boulevard.

Oomer previously produced “7 Seconds,” “Black Dawn,” “Blue Demon” and “The Detonator,” while Shull produced the film “Waiting…” before the duo teamed up.
