DeAPlaneta eyes ‘Sylvia’

Barcelona company grabs rights to film

Barcelona-based DeAPlaneta has acquired international distribution rights outside Spain and France to Jose Luis Guerin’s Venice competition player “In the City of Sylvia.”

A critics’ darling, and a largely dialogue-free study of the advantages of amorous frustration, “Sylvia” tracks a young man as he dawdles around Strasbourg, eventually trailing a girl whom he thinks he might have met in a nightclub six years before.

“Sylvia” was produced by Spain’s Eddie Saeta and France’s Chateau Rouge. It also screened at Toronto.
