Dances With Films fetes ‘Broke Sky’

'Last Magic Show' receives honorable mention

“Broke Sky,” directed by Thomas Callaway, drew the feature nod as the Dances With Films Film Festival closed its 10th edition Thursday evening after a weeklong engagement at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theater.

“Broke Sky” was written by Scott Phillips, John Howard, Frank Patterson, Brian Muir and Callaway. “The Last Magic Show,” written and directed by Andy Conlan received an honorable mention.

“Love & Other 4 Letter Words,” directed by Steven Ayromlooi and written by Mandel Holland, took home the audience award for feature.

Tom Tagholm’s “A Bout de Truffe” drew the short film kudos, with an honorable mention going to “Stabbing Stupidity,” directed by Paul DeNigris and written by Steve Briscoe.

“Snips & Snails,” directed by Hilari Scarl and written by Scarl and Gary Anthony Williams, took the aud nod.

“Father G and the Homeboys” walked away with the fusion audience award for feature while “Three-Fifty” garnered the same for shorts.

Fest mandates that all films in competish have no “known” actors, writers, directors or producers.
