‘Compass’ adds Kate Bush tune

Singer recorded film's original song 'Lyra'

British warbler Kate Bush will add her ethereal touch to the closing credits of New Line epic “The Golden Compass.”

Bush, whose decade-spanning career has garnered three Grammy noms, produced and recorded the film’s original song, “Lyra,” in her own studio. Oxford’s Magdalen College Choir beefs up the track, which will be available on “The Golden Compass” soundtrack Dec. 11.

The film, based on the first of Philip Pullman’s fantasy novel trilogy, will be released worldwide Dec. 7. This is not Bush’s first film collaboration – her work has been featured in pics such as “She’s Having a Baby,” “Brazil,” and 1986’s “Castaway.”
