CANNES — Capitol Films has added Joshua Marston’s “The Fortress of Solitude” and the latest Don Roos project “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits” to its sales slate.
It’s financing and handling worldwide sales on “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits,” which will star Jennifer Lopez in an emotional and comedic drama about a woman’s stormy relationship with her young stepson. Producer is Marc Platt.
Capitol is handling international sales on “The Fortress of Solitude,” which is being financed by its producer Michael London via his Groundswell Prods.
Pic, Marston’s follow-up to “Maria Full of Grace,” is adapted from the novel of the same name by Jonathan Lethem, about the only white kid in a black neighborhood of Brooklyn, and his unlikely friendship with the son of a washed-up soul singer.
Both movies are due to shoot this summer. Deals for both were negotiated by William Morris Independent’s Rena Ronson
and Capitol’s Jane Barclay.
