Billy Bob Thornton has joined the cast of the DreamWorks’ Shia LaBeouf starrer “Eagle Eye.”
Michelle Monaghan and Rosario Dawson have already boarded the D.J. Caruso-helmed thriller.
Penned by Daniel McDermott, story revolves around a slacker (LaBeouf) and a single mother (Monaghan) who are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to carry out a political assassination. Hillary Seitz wrote the most recent draft.
Thornton will play a patriotic government employee who leads a homeland security team that tracks down the fugitives. Caruso created the role for the actor.
Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Pat Crowley and Ed McDonnell are producing.
Thornton is shooting “The Informers” and will then segue to “Eagle Eye.”
He is repped by CAA and Media Talent Group.
