Festival offers 16 premieres, 103 films in all

The 15th edition of the Hamptons Film Festival will kick off with the world preem of “Bernard and Doris.”

Bob Balaban’s film about tobacco heiress Doris Duke and her gay butler, to whom she left her fortune, unspools Oct. 17. The fest wraps Oct. 21 with “August Rush,” a music-themed drama starring Jonathan Rhys-Myers, Keri Russell, Terrence Howard and Freddie Highmore.

Interviews with Vanessa Redgrave and Sidney Lumet are also on tap, as well as 16 other world preems and 103 films in all. Gothamites trekking out to the East End will get a crack at festival titles of recent vintage, including “Caramel,” “The Savages” and “Teeth.”
