BERLIN — Senator Entertainment has signed stuntwoman-turned-thesp Zoe Bell to star in an as yet untitled bigscreen action-adventure penned by Sarah Thorp.
Senator topper Marco Weber, who developed the story with Thorp and is producing the film, described Bell — who made her acting debut in Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse” pic “Death Proof” — as the ideal actress for the role.
Bell plays a young soldier who returns to an aimless civilian life until she decides to help a young girl in danger, and embarks on the greatest adventure of her life.
“When I saw Zoe in ‘Death Proof’ I was immediately thrilled,” said Weber. “Her background as a stuntwoman, her excellent performance and her cool, authentic attitude make her perfect for the role.”
In July, Senator released “Death Proof” as a stand-alone film in Germany, where it has so far garnered $3.8 million at the box office.
Thorp’s writing credits include “Bounty Hunter,” recently picked up by Columbia Pictures for Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz, and “Twisted,” the 2004 thriller starring Ashley Judd and Samuel L. Jackson.
