Dori Begley has been tapped as a director of acquisitions at Magnolia Pictures, the theatrical distribution arm of Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner’s 2929 Entertainment.
Begley was manager of acquisitions from 2000 through 2006 at Sony Pictures Classics, headed by Michael Barker and Tom Bernard, and worked on such titles as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “The Fog of War,” “Cache” and “Volver.”
Most recently, Begley served as associate programmer for the Tribeca Film Festival.
She will be based in the Magnolia New York office.
Magnolia is headed by Eamonn Bowles. Company’s recent releases include Korean horror import “The Host” and Oscar nommed docu “Jesus Camp.”
