Beatty to present honors to Allen

Actor to give film editor Fellowship prize

Warren Beatty will present veteran film editor Dede Allen with the Motion Picture Editors Guild’s 2008 Fellowship and Service Award at the annual Board of Directors Installation Dinner.

Beatty previously worked with Allen on the Oscar-winning films “Bonnie and Clyde” and “Reds.” Credits for the veteran film editor also include “The Hustler,” “The Milagro Beanfield War,” “Dog Day Afternoon” and “Serpico.”

The Fellowship and Service Award honors film editors who exhibit both professionalism and commitment to the craft. The award was created in 2007.

The event will be held Jan. 5 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
