Lauren Bacall, Marianne Faithfull and Brian Cox will be among the guests at this year’s unusually star- studded Haugesund film festival in Norway.
Bacall will be the fest’s guest of honor on opening night Friday, when this year’s Amandas (the Norwegian equivalent of the Oscar) are presented.
During the summer, Bacall and Cox shot the feature “Wide Blue Yonder” on the Norwegian west coast, and Cox will now stay on for a couple of days. Faithfull will be at the fest to present “Irina Palm,” which will close the event on Aug. 23.
Other helmers at this year’s fest include Swedes Roy Andersson and Stefan Jarl, Dane Bille August, German Stefan Ruzowitzky and Italian Claudio Antonini.
Among the non-Scandi films to be screened are August’s Nelson Mandela biopic “Goodbye Bafana,” Cannes winner “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days,” “The Banishment,” “Ratatouille,” “Shrek 3” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service.”
