Averill to head special interest group

Exec to top Women and Film and TV

Penny Averill has been named chief executive of Women and Film and TV, the body which aims to protect and enhance the status and interests of women working at all levels in the U.K. film, television and digital media industries.

Averill replaces Jane Cussons who has ankled the org to pursue other interests.

Averill most recently worked as deputy director of the British Board of Film Classification. Before that gig, Averill had a long career working in the U.K. film and television industry.
