Fred Wolf to direct Happy Madison production

Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison have set Anna Faris to star and Fred Wolf to direct an untitled college campus comedy that will begin production this summer.

Faris will play an ex-Playboy bunny who moves into the lamest sorority on campus to help make the girls more popular. “Legally Blonde” scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith wrote the screenplay.

Happy Madison will produce the pic, which was brought in by HM exec Heather Parry.

With David Spade, Wolf just wrote “Mad Families,” a Happy Madison-produced pic at Columbia that’s shaping up as a star vehicle for Spade and Chris Rock.

Happy Madison also is developing “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,” an Adam Sandler vehicle that Sandler wrote with Judd Apatow and Robert Smigel. Dennis Dugan will direct for Columbia. Faris just wrapped “Mama’s Boy” and “Kids in America.”
